The National Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America began as a group of members within Vietnam Veterans of America. As the scope of activities and the number of people involved grew, this membership group formed the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America in 1999 as an independent membership and service organization. 

Mission Statement

To advance the work of Vietnam Veterans of America through cooperative projects and programs to facilitate, enhance and improve communication with our members and the general public and to continue legislative efforts to ensure the rights and benefits for all veteran’s and their families.

Vision Statement

Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America is dedicated to the aggressive advancement of realistic goals with integrity and in the spirit of unity that reflects our commitment to Vietnam Veterans of America, all veterans, their families and others.

ABOUT AVVA CHAPTER 905 OF PORTER COUNTY

AVVA 905 formed as an Associates group shortly after VVA 905 formed.  Today we have over 50 members in our local chapter.  That means we are the second highest member chapter in the State of Indiana.  We are on the move!
Our State AVVA is currently finalizing their incorporation papers with National AVVA at this time.  Once completed, we will be an official Affiliate of the National Organization.  Our State Representative for Indiana is Sandy Postawa from Chapter 285 in Lake County; State Vice President is Becky Crull, Chapter 285 in Lake County and our State Secretary-Treasurer is Sue Lynch, Chapter 905 in Porter County.  The State AVVA is busy working on a Fundraiser Cookbook.  If you have any recipes you would like to share with us please send them to us at the following address:
Representative Postawa and Becky have recently attended the National AVVA Convention in Tucson, AZ.  We will be updating you on current changes to the constitution shortly.
